Held at Mahalaxmi Racecourse @ BOOTH C62, Mumbai, from 13–16 November, this curated presentation explores the delicate dance between memory and perception, structure and spontaneity. Each artist brings a unique visual voice, echoing VHC’s mission to champion bold and diverse talent.

Since its founding in 2020, VHC has become a cultural force—mounting museum-quality exhibitions, fostering global dialogue and enriching India’s contemporary art landscape with authenticity, innovation and care.

LU XINJIAN — MAPPING CITIES THROUGH ABSTRACT EYES

Lu Xinjian, born in Jiangsu, China, transforms the chaos of city life into calm, abstract visions. With a background in graphic design and interactive media from top institutes in China and the Netherlands, he paints urban landscapes from above—flattened, rhythmic, and full of coded geometry. His style echoes Abstract Expressionism, yet speaks a language all his own. Exhibited in Shanghai, London, and Los Angeles, and housed in global collections from Sydney to Paris, Xinjian’s work invites viewers to see cities not as crowded maps, but as quiet patterns of memory and motion. Now based in Shanghai, he continues to chart new visual territories.

MONALI MEHER — TIME, MEMORY, AND THE ART OF TRANSFORMATION

Monali Meher, a pioneering artist from Pune now based in Ghent, Belgium, weaves time and memory into powerful visual stories. Trained at Sir J. J. School of Art, her multidisciplinary journey spans performances and installations across Tate Modern, Art Dubai, MAXXI Rome, the Prague Biennale and many more. Her acclaimed public work The Bridge Is Open in Amsterdam stands as a poetic symbol of connection and change. With awards like LIVE Funds from BKVB Amsterdam and the prestigious NN Art Award at Art Rotterdam, and residencies from Vienna to New Delhi, Meher’s art continues to evolve—bold, thoughtful and deeply human.

RAVI MORYA — ECHOES OF BEING THROUGH REPETITION

Ravi Morya, a young artist from Gwalior now based in New Delhi, paints with rhythm and reflection. A graduate of RMT University, his art finds meaning in repetition—of forms, gestures, and thoughts—revealing quiet truths about who we are and how we remember. His works have graced galleries across India, from CIMA to Birla Academy, earning him accolades like the Prafulla Dhanukar and All India Art awards. With a keen eye on the patterns of life, Morya invites us to pause, observe and rediscover the familiar as something profound.

REZA DERAKSHANI — A RADIANT FUSION OF HERITAGE AND ABSTRACTION

Reza Derakshani, born in Sangsar, Iran, paints with the soul of Persian tradition and the fire of modern abstraction. Trained in Tehran and California, and mentored by legendary artists, he blends the elegance of miniature painting with bold, expressive forms. His canvases shimmer with silver and gold, telling stories through color, texture, and symbolism. From early acclaim in Tehran to global exhibitions in New York and beyond, Derakshani’s art bridges East and West—celebrating memory, movement and the timeless beauty of cultural fusion.

SAMIM ALAM BEG — SCULPTING NATURE INTO THOUGHTFUL FORM

Samim Alam Beg, a young sculptor from Murshidabad now based in Kochi, blends nature’s quiet elegance with the structure of design. Trained at Rabindra Bharati University, his work explores how landscapes—both cultural and natural—can speak through ceramics, metal, and photography. With a keen eye for detail and a deep curiosity, Samim transforms organic shapes into delicate, architectural sculptures. His art has earned him gold medals, national awards, and a place in exhibitions across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Kochi. Each piece is a gentle conversation between earth, form and imagination.

POOYA ARYANPOUR — REFLECTIONS OF TRADITION IN SCULPTURAL SPACE

Pooya Aryanpour, a visionary artist from Tehran, brings Iranian cultural roots into a shimmering, modern form. Trained in painting at Azad University, his journey began with abstract strokes and mysterious drawings. Over time, his practice expanded into sculptural installations—large, reflective works that turn tradition into performance. By transforming his sketches into mirror-laced structures, Aryanpour invites viewers to step into the artwork, becoming part of its story. Exhibited widely across Iran and abroad, his art bridges the quiet depth of heritage with the boldness of contemporary expression.
