Uttarbanga Festival 2026: Siliguri’s Grand Celebration of Classical Dance, Music & Heritage
Nestled against the misty silhouette of the Himalayas, Siliguri prepares to host a cultural extravaganza like no other — the Uttarbanga Festival 2026, organised by Pracheen Kala Kendra and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
On 5th and 6th October 2026, Siliguri will awaken to a radiant confluence of tradition and creativity as the Uttarbanga Festival 2026 unfolds. This two‑day celebration of Indian Classical Music, Dance, and Fine Arts promises to immerse audiences in timeless artistry.
From 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm daily, the Ramkinkar Hall will host a vibrant Art Exhibition, where canvases and sculptures echo the soul of Bengal’s cultural heritage.
As twilight descends, the stage at Dinabandhu Mancha will come alive at 6:00 pm, resonating with the rhythms of classical dance and the melodies of Indian music.
Set to unfold at Dinabandhu Manch on 5th and 6th October 2026, this two-day festival promises an evocative journey through India’s classical dance, music, and fine arts traditions, weaving together heritage and harmony under the North Bengal sky.
The festival opens on DAY ONE (5TH OCTOBER, 6 PM) with a resplendent showcase of Indian classical dance.
Audiences will witness the grace of Bharatanatyam by Vidushi Sangita Chaki & disciples, Smt. Rimpi Saha & disciples, and Mr. Prosenjit Deb with Mr. Shuvam Ghosh; the lyrical elegance of Odissi presented by Dr. Pompi Paul & disciples and Dr. Dripta Chakraborty & disciples; and the rhythmic storytelling of Kathak by Ms. Dona Dutta & disciples, Vidushi Sahelee Basu Thakur & disciples, Smt. Agnimitra Sengupta & disciples, Mrs. Debjaya Sarkar & disciples, Hakimpara Nritya Malancha, Ms. Sanchari Sarkar & disciples, Shri Gobinda Saha & disciples, and the duo Shri Ayan Bhattacharjee with Smt. Sujata Chatterjee — culminating in a soul-stirring collective rendition of Vande Mataram.
DAY TWO (6TH OCTOBER, 6 PM) — turns the spotlight to classical vocal and instrumental artistry, opening with melodies from Shadaj and Sristee Music Academies, followed by Vidushi Barnali Basu & disciple’s ensemble and a mesmerising tabla performance by Pandit Subir Adhikari & disciples. Solo vocalists including Vidushi Malobika Chakraborty, Nibedita Bhattacharjee, Sutapa Dutta, Ashish Banerjee, Satyaki Chakraborty, Aviman Roy and Deborshi Hore will enchant the audience, while the evening crescendos with a masterful sitar recital by Pandit Debopratim Roy, accompanied Pandit Subir Adhikari on Tabla and talented co-artists including Shri Sudip Chakraborty, Shri Dhrupad Ray Acharya, Shri Amit Saha, Shri Riju Saha, Shri Priyanshu Nandi on Tabla and harmonium by Shri Ashis Kansa Banik.
