Two Devotional Offerings, One Luminous Voice: Jaya Biswas Celebrates Maa Durga
There are voices that simply sing, and there are voices that pray. Jaya Biswas belongs to the latter.
The acclaimed musician has released two devotional gems: “Teri Sharan Mein Ambe Maa” and “Eso Maa Durga”. Each is a heartfelt tribute to the Divine Mother.
Teri Sharan Mein Ambe Maa is a Hindi Devi Bhajan released under the T-Series label. Jaya Biswas sings and composes it, with lyrics by Indulekha Dutta. Arrangements by Pranab Banerjee, Uday Mukherjee, Soumajyoti Ghosh and Subhas Bose give the bhajan a rich texture.
The video, conceived and directed by Bipradas Ghosh, was crafted by Mira Production (Raktim & Ranabir) along with the sound engineering by Rabindranath Majee. It features Jaya Biswas with Anwesha Pradhan, Aanshi Mukherjee, Disha Sarkar and Rajosree Ghosh.
Eso Maa Durga, released on 15 September 2025, is a Bengali invocation. It is composed by Pranab Banerjee, with words by Anirban Jana and sound engineering by Sanjoy Biswas.
Jaya Biswas trained under Gurus Sree Moti and the late Suroma Roy, and later studied Ghazal at the Calcutta School of Music Academy and with Pandit Ajay Chakraborty at Sruti Nandan.
A literature graduate, she is a gold medalist in Sugam Sangeet (Sangeet Bisarad). She also holds the titles Sangeet Ratna and Sangeetsree in Nazrul Geeti.
Together, the two songs offer listeners a quiet moment of devotion.
