Twenty-Five Years of Grace: Lalitarpan Festival Turns Silver

Delhi’s stage is ready for a celebration of dance. Lalitarpan Festival 2026 marks its Silver Jubilee, its 25th edition, presented by Dr Jyotsna Suri and Padmashri Guru Shovana Narayan. Its theme is “Tradition, Transition, Transmission.”

The festival runs on 8th and 9th October at 7 pm at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Entry is free.

8th October: Living Legacies. The opening evening honours 25 senior-most dancer–gurus of Delhi, Padma and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardees, for their contribution to Indian classical dance. Guru Shovana Narayan and Sunit Tandon then perform Yudhishthir & Draupadi, based on Pavan K Varma’s celebrated poem.

9th October: The Next Chapter. The second evening features Sumang: The Silent Pillars by Suparna Singh and Mahima Satsangi. It closes with Noor, a solo by Sanjukta Sinha.

The guests of honour are Sangita Sanona, First Lady of Ladakh, Shri. Pavan K Varma, Poet, author & former M.P, Prof. KG Suresh and  Dr Preeti Agarwal, Director Haldirams Group.

It is a rare chance to see legendary gurus and rising artists on one stage.

Behind the Silver Jubilee of Lalitarpan Festival stands its Co-Founder Patron, Dr Jyotsna Suri, Chairman and Managing Director of the Bharat Group of Hotels. Her steady patronage of Indian classical dance has helped the festival grow into one of Delhi’s most cherished cultural gatherings. Together with Padmashri Guru Shovana Narayan, she presents this year’s celebration of tradition, artistry and legacy.
