TRILLIUM – WHORLS OF THREE

AN EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS OF RENOWNED ARTISTS RAMESH K KANNAN, MURALI NAGAPUZHA AND MAHESH MAROLI

JEHANGIR ART GALLERY presents TRILLIUM – whorls of three, an exhibition of Paintings of eminent artists Ramesh K Kannan, Murali Nagapuzha and Mahesh Maroli at Auditorium Hall, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai on 16 January 2024.

Eminent contemporary artist Murali Nagapuzha exhibits his recent creative experiments of “still-life like compositions rendering his art lexicon quite unlike a botanical illustration or a still life or strict photorealism”, as remarked by the renowned art critic Sushma Sabnis from Mumbai.

“Nature is a predominant theme in my paintings. I come from a village in Kerala where life is about small things, the butterfly and the cows, children playing hide and seek and going fishing. It is the simplicity of village life which I have tried to capture,” says artist Murali Nagapuzha.

Veteran artist Ramesh K Kannan who experiments with figurative as well as abstract paintings that blends the mystical classicism of traditional Theyyam of North Malabar, Kerala with distinctive visual styles, exhibits his recent works . He has been engaged in creative photography for more than four decades in Kannur, Kerala and his paintings and photographs adorn many private collections in India and abroad.

Renowned artist and entrepreneur Mahesh Maroli from Kannur participated in many Painting Camps and Exhibitions conducted by Lalithakala Akademy, Kerala Chitrakala Parishath and many prestigious organizations.

The Exhibition will continue till 22 January 2024.

“Trillium Showcases the confluence of three visual styles, three artistic sensibilities and three creative minds from the fertile, sun-kissed shores of Kerala,” says the organisers of the Exhibition.
