Thousand Gestures: A Symphony of Human Expression
Thousand Gestures, the exquisite exhibition of paintings by Suresh K. Nair, curated by Kirti Chandak, unfolds at Maison Perumal, Pondicherry, from June 13th to July 12th, 2026.
Presented by Shilpataru & Maison Perumal, this collection celebrates the eloquence of movement—the silent poetry of hands, faces and forms that speak beyond words.
Each artwork becomes a meditation on the infinite ways humanity expresses emotion and empathy. The mosaic‑like imagery evokes unity through diversity, reminding viewers that every gesture, however small, carries the pulse of shared existence.
From Murals to Multiples: The Art of Suresh K. Nair
“Art is the rhythm of the soul made visible.” This sentiment beautifully echoes through the creative journey of Suresh K. Nair, a visionary whose art bridges tradition and modernity with effortless grace.
Trained in the intricate Kerala mural tradition at Guruvayoor and later refined at Shantiniketan, Suresh’s works embody both discipline and spontaneity—each stroke a dialogue between heritage and imagination.
Inspired by masters like K.G. Subramanyan and C.N. Karunakaran, his monumental murals in terra‑cotta and concrete stand as living testaments to collective creativity. Yet, beyond these grand surfaces, his drawings and watercolors reveal a gentler, introspective rhythm—fluid, intuitive and luminous.
