‘The Spectrum Within Me’: Renowned Artist Anjani Reddy’s Month-Long Solo Show Opens at Maison D’Art, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad
Some artists paint what they see. Others paint what they feel. Anjani Reddy, one of Hyderabad’s most respected contemporary artists, has spent nearly five decades doing both. This season she returns with a month-long solo exhibition, The Spectrum Within Me, at Maison D’Art, Banjara, curated by Pooja Mallepula.
The exhibition opens on the evening of 30 October 2026 at 7:00 PM. The Chief Guest will be Maud Miquau, Director of Alliance Française Hyderabad. The show then stays on view until 30 November 2026, giving art lovers a full month to take in the work.
A QUIET REVOLUTION IN COLOUR AND FORM
Anjani Reddy earned her National Diploma in Painting with distinction from JNTU in 1976 and went on to become a mentor as well as a painter. At the University College of Fine Arts she later led the Painting department, where her teaching shaped generations of young artists. She retired in 2011, but her work has continued to reach galleries and viewers. It includes over 17 solo shows and more than 100 group exhibitions.
Her figurative art is known for its strength, silence and soul. The poster for this show suggests as much: a circle of women, gathered close and wrapped in greens, pinks and blues, caught in a moment of quiet companionship.
A FLAME THAT CROSSED CONTINENTS
Her paintings have travelled from the streets of Hyderabad to galleries in Switzerland, Germany, Dubai, Bangkok and New York. Each exhibition has been a conversation between cultures, time and hearts.
Her honours include the Raja Ravi Varma Samman (Mumbai), the Ugadi Puraskar by the Government of Telangana and the AIFACS Award (New Delhi). She was also honoured at the Devi Awards in Hyderabad.
