T. P. Vivek – Voice of Hrudaygeet

Meet T. P. Vivek, a musician born into music itself. Coming from a family steeped in the art form, he first trained in Carnatic music under his mother, Smt. T. P. Rugmini Amma, before honing his craft further under Smt. Rajeswari, Sri Nilambur Karthikeyan, Sri Thuvvur Krishnakumar, and Sri Vechoor Sankar.

An anchor with All India Radio Kochi, T. P. Vivek breathes life into ghazals and soulful melodies, his acclaimed show Hrudaygeet resonating across venues with warmth and nostalgia. A musician of depth, he not only performs but also teaches Hindustani vocal music, guiding aspiring students with patience and passion.

For the past 15 years, Vivek has immersed himself in Hindustani Classical music — starting with Sri Sudheersha, then Smt. Aditi Gudi, and now training under the celebrated Ustad Fayaz Khan at Thrippunithura Bharatiya Sangeeth Vidyalaya.

A composer and singer for albums, Vivek also holds the honour of having sung Rama Bhajans before Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Thriprayar Sreerama Temple on January 17, 2024 — earning the PM’s personal appreciation.

His artistry shines most vividly in Hrudaygeet, where he blends classical ensembles—sitar, tabla, flute, harmonium—with traditional Malayalam compositions. At the Gowri National Cultural Festival in Palakkad, his performance became a tapestry of heritage and harmony, celebrated under the open sky of Rapadi auditorium.

Noted singer T. P. Vivek, celebrated for his soulful program Hrudaygeet, recently performed Kavya Geethika—a poetic musical ode presented as part of the ‘Deesiya Kavyotsavam 2026’, organized by the Ernakulam Library Council in Kochi. His rendition of classical poems by Changampuzha, Edappally and Vyloppilli, the towering luminaries of twentieth‑century Malayalam literature, captured the lyrical essence of Kerala’s poetic tradition. With his warm, refined voice and graceful interpretation, Vivek transformed the evening into a harmonious celebration of Kerala’s cultural heritage, where melody and verse flowed together like poetry set to music.

Beyond the stage, musician T. P. Vivek extends his artistry into service, offering his voice and time to NGOs like Petals Globe Foundation and Aptha Bharathi, where melodies become acts of compassion.
