WITNESS THE ELEGANCE, POWER AND TIMELESS SPIRIT OF WOMANHOOD AT STREE—A CLASSICAL DANCE PRODUCTION BY VAISHALI KALA KENDRA

Stree: A Dance Tribute to the Spirit of Womanhood

Vaishali Kala Kendra, New Delhi proudly presents “Stree”—a classical dance production celebrating the timeless journey of womanhood through poetic movements and evocative themes.

Set to unfold at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on 7th August 2025, this soul-stirring performance blends historic essence with modern resonance.

Guided by the vision of Guru Dr. Jyoti Shrivastava, Stree reveals the strength behind “Shringaar,” where beauty becomes courage and grace dances with defiance. Through delicate gestures and powerful rhythm, it pays homage to the many hues of a woman’s spirit.

Honored by the presence of Dr. Sachidanand Joshi ji as Chief Guest, this production invites all to witness elegance, resilience and the enduring fire of feminine expression.

Stree: Voices of Grace and Freedom

As India celebrates its 78th Independence Day this 15th August, the production mirrors the essence of freedom with deep emotional echoes—while honoring the spirit of a woman, the soul of the nation, its rich cultural legacy, the strength of its people and the enduring achievements of its journey. It pays heartfelt homage to every freedom fighter who lit the path to liberty.

Curated by Guru Dr. Jyoti Shrivastava, Stree is a poetic tribute to the many layers of womanhood—strength, spirit and resilience.

Featuring choreographies by prestigious institutions  Vaishali Kala Kendra (Odissi), Art Vision led by Padma Shri Dr. Ileana Citaristi (Odissi) and AIPA led by Guru Alaknanda Dasgupta (Kathak), each performance carries a unique rhythm and message.

Echoes of Heroines: Grace in Governance, Fire in Freedom

In a stirring homage, Vaishali Kala Kendra unveils “Stree,” breathing life into the legacy of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar and Matangini Hazra—emblems of feminine strength—through the eloquence of dance.

The 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai is honoured with an Odissi portrayal of her spiritual grace and dharmic rule, a queen who rebuilt temples and hearts with quiet power. Contrasting yet connected, Matangini Hazra’s story blazes forth—tricolour in hand, courage in every step.

Senior disciples Khyati Rawat, Sanvi Rastogi and Shruti Mishra bring these women’s legacies to stage, weaving reverence and resistance into rhythm, guided by Guru Jyoti Shrivastava’s vision of empowered storytelling.
