Artist Bhaskar Singha returns to the capital with his much-awaited solo exhibition, Realms of Peace – V, unfolding at the Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. This serene showcase will open its doors to art enthusiasts from 7th to 10th August 2025 (11:00 AM to 8:00 PM),  inviting all to step into the spaces shaped by silence, spirit and strokes of quiet strength.

The grand inauguration will take place on Tuesday, 6 August 2025 at 6:30 PM, in the presence of eminent voices from India’s cultural tapestry.

Gracing the evening are respected figures including Mrs. Sushma K. Bhal, writer and curator; Mr. Rakesh Gupta and Ms. Tina Vachani, directors of the NGO Routes 2 Roots NGO; Mr. Niren Sen Gupta, former Principal of the College of Art, New Delhi; renowned artist and writer Mr. Ashok Bhowmick and esteemed curator Mr. Johny M.L.

Singha’s latest works, layered with peace and reflection, are an invitation—to pause, to feel and to remember. Visitors can expect a journey into quiet corners and vibrant revelations, all flowing from the artist’s deeply meditative brush. In a world often caught in noise, this exhibition is a rare breath of calm.

Bhaskar Singha: Crafting Stillness, Stirring Thought

“Bhaskar Singha’s artistic journey spans nearly three decades,  marked by a distinctive visual language rooted in the traditions of Indian philosophy and contemporary socio-cultural narratives. Initially known for his mastery in watercolour, applying up to twelve translucent layers to achieve depth and luminosity, Singha later transitioned to acrylic on canvas while retaining the meditative softness of his earlier work. His themes have consistently reflected a connection to both everyday life and deeper spiritual inquiry ranging from issues like child labour and psychological unrest to depictions inspired by Sanatan philosophy and the teachings of Ramakrishna Mission, says the organizers of the show.

“His canvases are poetic reflections of inner and outer worlds. Through symbolic gestures like the breeze on a beach or the solitary runner in a clean India campaign he evokes motion, stillness, and transformation,” – organizers.

“Works such as “Youth,” “Maa Sarodha,” and tributes to Tagore, Vivekananda, and Satyajit Ray, exemplify his balance of realism, emotion and philosophical thought,” added.

His art speaks in a quiet voice—one shaped by Indian wisdom, modern struggles and gentle beauty. Each canvas reveals not just colour, but consciousness.

Starting with delicate watercolours, Singha mastered the layering of light, creating depth that felt more felt than seen. Later, his transition to acrylics brought new textures, but the softness stayed. Like meditation on canvas, his work whispers rather than shouts.

Titles like Youth, Maa Sarodha and painterly tributes to Tagore, Vivekananda and Satyajit Ray, show how Singha blends realism with feeling. They aren’t just portraits or moments—they’re invitations to see more, feel deeper and reflect longer.

From City Lights to Inner Light: Bhaskar Singha’s Ongoing Quest for Peace

Bhaskar Singha’s artistic presence has touched the soul of many cities—Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi—where his exhibitions have found home in some of India’s most respected venues. From Jehangir Art Gallery to Birla Academy, and Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath to Canvas Art Gallery,New Delhi,  his canvases have quietly spoken of peace, memory and truth. The India Habitat Centre has welcomed his several editions, becoming a familiar setting for his evolving visual philosophy.

In 2023, Realms of Peace took a contemplative turn at the Visual Art Gallery, leaving audiences moved by its calm clarity and visual grace.

Now, with the fifth chapter of this series, Bhaskar Singha returns—not to repeat, but to renew. His art is not just a surface to see, but a space to feel.  Each image, shaped by gentle colour and quiet form, invites reflection. Emotion flows freely, offering not only aesthetic joy but moments of meditation.

This new edition is more than an exhibition—it’s a passage. A soft call to pause and breathe, to walk through the colours and come out lighter, quieter and perhaps a little closer to peace.

Renwned artist Bhaskar Singha’s new exhibition unfolds like a quiet conversation—between soul and society, tradition and today. His visual world is shaped by Indian philosophy, echoing timeless ideas of balance and introspection.  At the same time, it reflects the present—its challenges, its hopes, its stories.
