CELEBRATING THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF PRASIDDHA FOUNDATION WITH RĀMĀYAṆA CHAITRĀVALI
THE PRASIDDHA FOUNDATION, A PIONEERING INSTITUTION IN INDIAN CLASSICAL DANCE AND PERFORMING ARTS, PROUDLY CELEBRATES ITS 40TH ANNIVERSARY WITH A SPECIALLY CURATED FESTIVAL, PRASIDDHA@40 – A GOLDEN ERA REDEFINED, SPECIALLY CURATED FESTIVAL – RĀMĀYAṆA CHAITRĀVALI.
This grand event, featuring an exceptional lineup of dance-theatre productions, will take place at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, from March 10 to March 12, 2025, at 7:15 PM. Open to all, Prasiddha@40 offers a unique opportunity to witness some of the finest talents in Indian classical dance.
The festival was inaugurated by esteemed dignitaries, including Respected Sri. Dattatreya Hosabale, SarSanghchalak, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh; Respected Hon. Vice President of India Sri. Jagdeep Dhankar; Respected Sri. Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon. Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India and Respected Sri. Abhijit Gokhale, Akhil Bharatiya Sangathan Mantri, Sanskar Bharati.
Curated by Padma Shri Prathibha Prahlad, Rāmāyaṇa Chaitrāvali presents a captivating retelling of the Ramayana through the lens of dance, music and theatre.
The festival begins on March 10, 2025, with the grand premiere of SĀMARTHYA – Women of Ramayana, a powerful production highlighting the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of the women of Ramayana, portrayed through Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathakali and Mohiniattam.
The ensemble features celebrated artistes such as Alekhya Punjala, Sanchita Bhattacharya, Ayswaria Wariar, and Haripriya Nambudari, with eminent artist Padma Shri Prathibha Prahlad leading as Seeta and the Prasiddha Repertory completing the ensemble.
EKAM SAT – One Truth, Many Paths
On March 11, 2025, EKAM SAT – One Truth, Many Paths takes the stage, exploring universal spirituality and the oneness of divinity through a visually stunning production that reflects on the unity of all faiths. Inspired by the Sanskrit verse Ekam Sat, Vipra Bahudha Vadanti (Truth is One, Expressed in Many Ways), the performance is designed and choreographed by renowned Padma Shri awardee Prathibha Prahlad and features Mithun Shyam, Rekha Raju, Nidhaga Karunad, Kavya Kasinath, and the Prasiddha Repertory, says the organizers of the Program.
BHARAT AFTER MAHATMA
The festival concludes on March 12, 2025, with BHARAT AFTER MAHATMA, a thought-provoking dance-theatre production tracing India’s journey post-independence.
This performance, choreographed by renowned Padma Shri awardee Prathibha Prahlad, highlights modern challenges such as social justice, gender equality and environmental preservation. Featuring a stellar ensemble including Mithun Shyam, Kuleshwar Thakur, Rahul Ray, Ram Gautam, Ramhari Mohanty and Kavya Kashinath, the production promises to be a powerful and reflective experience.
“Adding to the grandeur of the festival, Rāmāyaṇa Chaitrāvali will also feature special solo performances of lesser-known stories from the epic, including RĀVANA – The Untold Story of the 11th Head (Surya N. Rao), SAUMITRI – The Epitome of Unwavering Loyalty (P. Praveen Kumar), VĀYU PUTRA – Bhakti Redefined (Nidhaga Karunad), SHABARI – A Fable of Unwavering Faith (Satyanarayana Raju), and VĀLI – A Story of Courage and Invincibility (Mithun Shyam),” says the organizers on the artistic extravaganza.
“This festival is a celebration of Prasiddha’s 40-year journey and an artistic tribute to India’s timeless epics, spiritual wisdom and contemporary vision. Through dance, we hope to bring forth stories that inspire and resonate across generations,” shared renowned artist Padma Shri Prathibha Prahlad, curator of the Program.
For four decades, the Prasiddha Foundation, led by the visionary leadership of Padma Shri Prathibha Prahlad, has been a pioneer in Indian classical dance, cultural diplomacy and performing arts. The Prasiddha Repertory has gained international acclaim for its aesthetic brilliance and technical mastery, performing across Russia, China, Japan, Spain, Hungary, Malaysia and Armenia.
