Pareshti: The Endless Journey

Like a river carving its way through time and terrain, Pareshti is the unfolding story of human existence—searching, flowing, breaking, and reuniting. It speaks of life’s untamed currents, the longing to connect, the desire to love and be loved, the silent defiance against familiar paths, and the inevitable embrace of transformation.

“Maybe take birth again somewhere else or maybe right there… as does the river rise from the mountains to flow into the sea. Always in search of…….”

Inspired by the evocative music of Shri Subrata De, this masterpiece resonates with the timeless rhythm of the human soul.

The soulful composition by renowned sitarist, Pandit Subrata De, breathes life into this extraordinary vision, making the performance a celebration of pure artistic expressions,” organizers added.

Pandit Subrata De, a highly esteemed Hindustani Classical and devotional Sitarist, has dedicated his life to the soulful pursuit of Indian music. A graded artist of AIR, he is not only a celebrated performer but also a passionate mentor, shaping the next generation of musicians. His vision took form through Swaranjali, Delhi—a sanctuary for budding artists, where tradition meets innovation. With unwavering commitment, he plays a vital role in steering various institutions of Hindustani Classical music, serving as both educator and facilitator.

Adding to the prestige of the event, the renowned sitarist, Pandit Subrata De himself will grace the audience with his presence, making this moment even more special,” says the organizers of the program.

The ensemble of gifted dancers—Abha B, Adrita Ganguli, Alok Bina Mohanty, Debanita Chatterjee, Haripriya P, Karthikapriya P, Sayantan Sengupta, Shanavaz Kulab, Shomrita Mandal, Sushweta Maharana, Swadha Singh, and Triya Sarkar and enriched by the dynamic Script & Lights designing artistry of Mitanker Das Sarkar—breathe life into this journey, embodying the pulse of the river, the whispers of the wind, and the eternal search for meaning.

Pareshti: Human life flowing in a course like that of a river…..  that connect, grow, flow, tumble, roar, explore, widen, narrow down, resemble each other, break away, want to love, want to be loved, find their course, forbid known paths….unite through death.”
