A Musical Tribute Awaits: Pandit Shrikant Deshpande Smriti Vandana in Pune
Tomorrow, on 27 September 2025, the tranquil halls of Brahmanand Kala Mandir in Pune will come alive with the soul-stirring sounds of Hindustani classical music.
The Pandit Shrikant Deshpande Smriti Vandana Masik Sangeet Sabha, organized by Brahmanand Kala Mandal and Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, promises an evening steeped in reverence and melody.
The Pandit Shrikant Deshpande Smriti Vandana Masik Sangeet Sabha is a heartfelt musical tribute, thoughtfully organized by Pandit Sanjay Garud, the guiding force behind the Sabha and its soulful offerings.
Gracing the stage will be the gifted vocalist Ashvini Modak, a devoted disciple of Padmavibhushan Dr. Prabha Atre, whose voice carries the depth of tradition and emotion.
Renowned vocalist Ashvini Modak will be accompanied by the expressive harmonium of Shri Tushar Kelkar and the rhythmic brilliance of Shri Kishor Korde on tabla.
Together, they will weave an atmosphere of devotion, artistry and timeless grace—celebrating the essence of classical music in its purest form.
Ashvini Modak’s musical journey is steeped in heritage and guided by excellence. Born into a family of artists—her mother, Smt. Latika V. Vyaghrambare, a respected classical vocalist, and her grandfather, the renowned Marathi theatre figure P.G. Sukhatme—Ashvini’s love for the arts bloomed early. She trained under sitar maestro Pandit Bimlendu Mukherjee and later, under the legendary Padmavibhushan Dr. Prabha Atre of the Kirana Gharana, refining her artistry for over two decades.
