PANCHTATVA: THE ELEMENTAL MOSAIC BY RITA JHUNJHUNWALA
Experience the enchanting solo art exhibition, ‘Panchtatva: The Elemental Mosaic,’ by acclaimed artist Rita Jhunjhunwala. Running from 15th to 19th February 2025 at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, this exceptional showcase pays homage to the five fundamental elements of nature—Prithvi (Earth), Jal (Water), Agni (Fire), Vayu (Air) and Akash (Space/Ether).
These elemental forces come alive in a captivating collection of mixed-media, semi-abstract artworks. Featuring textures on canvas, paper and wood, the series explores the intricate relationship between the elements, the human body and the cosmos.
“Rita’s art beautifully captures the eternal essence of the Panchtatvas, celebrating their timeless role in sustaining life and the universe. Her works evoke reflections on ‘Prana’ (vital force) and its profound connection to these primordial elements, exploring themes of time, resilience, and cosmic harmony. Known for her evocative and textured style, Rita’s art transcends boundaries, seamlessly blending the abstract with the tangible. Her creations are a testament to her ability to draw inspiration from the natural world and translate it into profound artistic expressions,” says the curator of the show.
