Neo‑Urban Avatar: A Mythopoesis of the Contemporary Times II — Birendra Pani’s Visionary Urban Mythscape
In the luminous halls of the India International Centre, New Delhi, in collaboration with Purushottam Public Trust, New Delhi, presents Neo-Urban Avatar: A Mythyopoesis of the Contemporary Times II– an exhibition that breathes myth into the pulse of modernity.
From June 30 to July 14, 2026, the gallery becomes a living theatre of colour and consciousness, where renowned artist Birendra Pani’s paintings, drawings and prints mirror the fragmented realities of our urban existence.
Each work is a dialogue between the sacred and the synthetic — mythology entwined with memory, satire, consumerism and the ecological echoes of our time. Birendra Pani’s figures shimmer between worlds, their gestures both ancient and algorithmic, their hues charged with the tension of transformation.
“Rooted in Indian aesthetic traditions yet shaped by a globalized and technologized visual culture, the works weave together mythology, memory, satire, consumerism and environmental traces into an evolving contemporary mythscape,” — says renowned artist Birendra Pani.
All are invited to witness this metamorphosis at the Art Gallery, Kamaladevi Complex, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi, where daily artist walk‑throughs at 5:30 pm promise intimate encounters with the creator’s mythic imagination.
