Light as Creation: Divyaman Singh’s Meditative Landscapes Illuminate Bikaner House

From August 21st to 24th, 2025, Bikaner House in New Delhi hosts Light as Creation — a solo exhibition by the introspective artist Divyaman Singh.

Known for his quietude and intuitive process, Divyaman Singh paints only when stirred by profound inner emotion—resulting in landscapes that shimmer with soft light and evoke a serene, almost spiritual stillness.

Curated with insight by renowned Uma Nair, the exhibition invites viewers into a world where light becomes both subject and symbol, reflecting the artist’s contemplative journey.

Set within the elegant LTC Gallery, New Delhi, this four-day showcase offers a rare glimpse into the soul of an artist who listens deeply to silence and translates it into visual poetry.

Renowned artist Divyaman Singh, a self-taught artist, channels the elemental forces of nature and spirit through his evocative abstract paintings. Working intuitively with oil on canvas—often using his bare hands, palette knives, and linen cloth—he creates richly textured surfaces that pulse with quiet intensity. Favoring a restrained palette of just two colors, his works transcend visual simplicity to explore themes of cosmic unity, spiritual awakening, and the eternal rhythms that bind humanity to the universe.

Rooted in the landscapes of Chaugain, a village in Bihar’s Buxar district, Divyaman Singh’s art breathes with the quiet wisdom of forests and mountains. His deep connection to nature—emotional and philosophical—guides the spirit of his practice.

“I feel truly at home only when surrounded by forests and mountains,” he shares.

Through his paintings, viewers are invited into a meditative space where stillness awakens awareness, and the natural world becomes a mirror for inner reflection.

Light, Land and Solitude

Divyaman Singh’s solo exhibition Light as Creation, unveils a contemplative series rooted in solitude and elemental beauty. Known for painting only when stirred by inner compulsion, Divyaman’s impressionistic landscapes and tree studies use scarlet and blue to evoke transitional moments—sunrise, sunset, memory and transformation.

Curatorial advisor Uma Nair describes these works as “pages of the earth,” inviting viewers into a quiet meditation on truth, emotion, and timelessness.

A Radiant Dialogue Between Earth and Soul

Infused with ancestral wisdom and contemporary thought, Divyaman Singh’s paintings resonate with the voices of Etel Adnan, Rachel Carson, and Anaïs Nin—where ecology, poetry and inner vision converge.

His blue series, inspired by the sea as a meeting place of body and spirit, glows with ultramarine, burnt sienna, and radiant orange, suggesting that light is both subject and source. Light as Creation invites viewers into a tranquil realm where silence and space become instruments of perception, and each canvas becomes a quiet meditation on existence.

Renowned artist Singh’s artistic voice has found resonance both in India and abroad, with solo and group exhibitions in New Delhi, Mumbai, Dubai, and Milan.

His work, rooted in introspection and elemental beauty, continues to engage diverse audiences—bridging geographies through a language of light, silence and soul.
