“Let’s Paint Music: International Artist Camp on the Banks of the Ganga”
A vibrant celebration of creativity is unfolding in Varanasi, where the 14th Artist’s Residency by Ram Chhatpar Shilp Nyas India brings together a diverse group of young talents for “LET’S PAINT MUSIC.”
Guided by master trainer and project coordinator Prof. Suresh K. Nair, this international art camp runs from October 3–5, 2025, followed by a public exhibition from October 6–10 at ISHII Gallery—gracefully perched on the banks of Mother Ganga.
This immersive experience promises soulful expression, cultural exchange, and a gallery filled with rhythm-infused canvases.
Prof. Madanlal thoughtfully organized this program to inspire the new generation of students, nurturing their creativity and connecting them to the timeless rhythm of art and music.
During the workshop, Prof. Suresh K. Nair warmly introduced a vibrant group of Indian and international artists whose creative journeys have been deeply inspired by music.
“From Kandinsky’s symphonic strokes to Mondrian’s jazz-filled grids, great artists have long listened with their eyes. Music is not just heard—it is felt, seen and painted. When rhythm meets canvas, it becomes a universal language of emotion and form. Through this camp, we invite every brush to dance to its own melody.” — Prof. Suresh K. Nair, Project Coordinator.
He shared stories of their influences and offered live demonstrations, turning melodies into expressive lines and colors through music-based drawings and paintings.
“In India, music has always been more than sound—it’s a spirit that flows into color, form and memory. From the lyrical grace of Ragmala paintings to the quiet rhythm in Dayanita Singh’s photographs, our artists have painted what they heard and felt. Whether it was Raja Ravi Varma’s veena or Tagore’s silent melodies, each brushstroke carries a note of devotion. Art and music, here, are not separate—they are two voices of the same soul.” — Prof. Suresh K. Nair added.
The exhibition opened on October 6th with a soulful music program that filled the ISHII Gallery with warmth and rhythm, setting a beautiful tone for the days ahead.
“It’s an international art camp which includes students from Bangladesh and all over India. The gallery itself is situated by the river Ganges, creating a meditative atmosphere perfect for getting lost in the waves of music. The music guided my brush like a quiet meditation—painting and singing became one soulful rhythm,” says Medha.
