Katha-Sutra: Sita Anjaneya Katha – A Symphony of Stories
On 14 June 2026, Kolkata’s Mahanayak Uttam Mancha will come alive as Katha-Sutra presents Sita Anjaneya Katha—an enchanting evening where storytelling finds expression through the classical dance traditions of Kathak and Kathakali. This artistic confluence of rhythm, gesture and emotion unfolds as a luminous dialogue between two timeless forms, weaving myth and movement into a seamless tapestry of devotion and drama.
Featuring acclaimed performers Prolay Sarkar and Ramyani Roy, the production celebrates India’s rich heritage of narrative dance—where every glance, every beat, and every turn of the wrist becomes poetry in motion. In this spellbinding performance, stories transcend words, and tradition breathes anew through the eloquence of art.

Katha-Sutra: A Night of Sacred Narratives
The evening unfolds with two evocative productions that bridge devotion and imagination. Sita Anjaneya Katha – The Token of Faith marks a historic moment in Kathakali, where Prolay Sarkar and Ramyani Roy bring verses from Tulsidas Ramcharitmanas to life in their original Awadhi form—an exquisite confluence of literature and classical expression guided by Debopam Das. Through Sita’s offering of the Chudamani to Hanuman, the performance becomes a luminous meditation on faith, courage and divine love.
In contrast, Moonstruck – A Story of Moon and a Man, presented by Ashimbandhu Bhattacharjee, glows with poetic introspection, tracing humanity’s eternal fascination with the moon through the fluid grace of Kathak.
