Infinite Rasa — SIFAS Festival of Arts 2026
The Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS) inaugurated its 75th anniversary festival on 17 April 2026, unveiling a new era in its newly opened premises.
Themed “Infinite Rasa”, the celebration draws from the classical Indian aesthetic of rasa—the emotional essence of art—bringing together tradition and contemporary imagination.
Across 17 days, the SIFAS Festival of Arts 2026 brings together over 250 participants, weaving a vibrant tapestry of tradition and innovation.
Among its exquisite productions, Bhumi: Feel the Beat on 25 April, directed by Sikiti Gurucharan, united music and poetry to reflect humanity’s bond with the earth. On 26 April, DWI — Two Voices, One Soul offered an enchanting jugalbandhi featuring Aruna Sairam, Carnatic vocal, and Kaushiki Chakraborty (Hindustani Vocal), blending Carnatic and Hindustani traditions into a seamless dialogue of devotion and artistry. These performances embody the festival’s theme of Infinite Rasa, where emotion, heritage and creativity converge in luminous harmony.
Among the highlights, Vidushi Rosy Dutta Pandit, distinguished Hindustani vocalist from Kolkata, will perform on 29 April, accompanied by Guru Mihir Kundu (Tabla) and Guru Subhadeep Kumar Biswas (Harmonium)—a soulful evening where devotion, artistry, and emotion converge.
Rosy Dutta — A Soulful Voice of Tradition
Born into a family steeped in cultural heritage, Rosy Dutta received her first lessons from her mother, Vidushi Sabita Pandit (Roy), before pursuing rigorous taalim under eminent gurus including Pandit J.V.S. Rao, Pandit Biresh Roy, and ‘Guruma’ Dr. Sunanda Patnaik. Her lineage and discipline place her firmly within the revered tradition of Hindustani classical music.
Over the years, she has graced prestigious platforms across India, and various countries abroad, earning acclaim for her artistry and devotion. Her performances embody continuity and resonance, carrying forward the timeless spirit of Indian classical music to audiences worldwide.
