India-Vietnam Partnership 2026: Trade, Defence and Tourism on the Rise

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar hailed Vietnam as a key partner in India’s Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision, co-chairing the 19th India-Vietnam Joint Commission in New Delhi. 

Talks with FM Le Hoai Trung covered defence co-production, trade, connectivity, and nuclear-space cooperation. As ties deepen, both nations are also looking to boost people-to-people travel, opening new doors for tourists to explore each other’s rich heritage. 

They’ll mark 55 years of diplomatic ties in 2027 as the “Year of India-Vietnam Friendship.”
