In Search of Imagination: Across Cultures — A Global Symphony of Artistic Vision

At the heart of New Delhi’s creative pulse, Gallery Sree Arts unveils In Search of Imagination: Across Cultures — a transcendent exhibition curated by the world‑renowned art collector Jitendra Padam Jain with Annkush B. Sharma as the conceptual lead.

This landmark event gathers a constellation of artistic voices from India and across continents, weaving together diverse sensibilities into one luminous dialogue of imagination.

Opening with a vernissage at 6:00 PM on 15 July 2026 at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, the exhibition invites visitors to wander through worlds shaped by brush, stone and spirit. From the lyrical traditions of Santiniketan to the avant‑garde expressions of global creators, each work becomes a whisper of cultural memory and a spark of shared humanity.

The evening also celebrates the release of ‘From Ramkinkar to Now: Santiniketan’s Evolving Art’ — a book that traces the enduring resonance of India’s modernist legacy and its influence on contemporary art.

The exhibition remains open to the public from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM until 18 July 2026, offering an immersive journey through imagination without borders.

Elegant, evocative and international in scope, ‘In Search of Imagination: Across Cultures stands’ as a testament to art’s timeless power — to connect, to question and to dream beyond geography.

Conceived as a dialogue beyond borders, ‘In Search of Imagination: Across Cultures’ gathers fifty luminous voices — twenty‑five from India, twenty‑five from the wider world — to celebrate creativity as a shared human pulse. Here, art is not a map of difference but a bridge of emotions, ideas and imagination.

The Indian participants bring a spectrum of practices: modern masters alongside contemporary explorers. Their works breathe heritage and memory, craftsmanship and myth, landscape and daily life. Through painting, mixed media, drawing, and experiment, they reinterpret familiar narratives with fresh vision, while remaining rooted in India’s diverse visual traditions.

Together, these renowned artists form a luminous constellation of global creativity — each voice distinct, yet harmonized by imagination’s universal rhythm. Artists from Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia and the Americas bring the essence of their homelands while engaging with universal human concerns. Latin American voices echo indigenous traditions, folklore and landscapes alive with color. European creators probe form and space, balancing classical rigor with contemporary experiment. East and Southeast Asian participants embody philosophies of harmony and contemplative gesture, where each mark carries meaning. From the Middle East emerge works of geometry, symbolism and resilience, while Africa, Australia and South Asia explore identity, migration, and belonging through deeply personal narratives.

Despite this remarkable diversity of styles and references, the exhibition is bound together by a singular curatorial vision — imagination as a shared language across cultures.

“Colour is humanity’s shared language. A single shade speaks to everyone regardless of where they come from” –reflects curator Jitendra Padam Jain, RCA London.

His words form the soul of ‘In Search of Imagination: Across Cultures’, affirming that while histories and traditions differ, the creative impulse remains universal.

Every brushstroke, texture and hue becomes a bridge — linking personal memory with collective understanding. The exhibition invites audiences to step beyond nationality and language, to feel the shared emotional energy embedded in artistic creation while honoring the uniqueness of each voice.

Presented by Gallery Sree Arts, this landmark gathering of global perspectives stands as a testament to art’s power: to foster dialogue, awaken empathy and unite cultures through imagination, expression and the timeless language of creativity.

A radiant testament: imagination unites, art endures, cultures converge.
