Honoring Freedom: ABPSSP Kolkata’s Tribute on India’s 79th Independence Day

On the morning of 15th August 2025, as India celebrated its 79th Independence Day, the members of ABPSSP Kolkata gathered at Shahid Mangal Pandey Samadhi Sthal in Barrackpur to honour the legacy of our brave martyrs.

The air was filled with quiet reverence and patriotic pride. Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest was General Anup Banerji, former Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services, New Delhi (Retired), and now a senior cardiologist at Medica Hospital, Kolkata. His presence lent a deep sense of dignity and gratitude to the ceremony, reminding all of the sacrifices that continue to shape our nation’s journey.

The spirit of freedom came alive through a vibrant cultural heritage program, where patriotic songs and dances echoed with pride and emotion. 

Distinguished station officers and families of veterans joined the celebration, adding warmth and honour to the gathering. 

The highlight of the day was the stirring performances by the talented students of Nandini Sinha Centre of Performing Arts—one of India’s leading cultural institutions.
