DUALITY: Young Artist Mehr Dhawan’s Powerful Call for the Planet

At just 14 years old, Mehr Dhawan is using poetry and art to speak up for the Earth.

Her solo exhibition, DUALITY: A Young Voice for the Planet, opened on September 26, 2025, at the College of Art, Tilak Marg, New Delhi. 

Inaugurated by Shri Vijay Bidhuri, Secretary of the Ministry of Environment & Forests, the event drew educators, environmentalists and art lovers alike. 

Through vivid paintings and heartfelt verses, Mehr Dhawan— currently in Grade 9 at Pathways School, Gurgaon—explores the fragile balance between nature and human life.

 At the inauguration, Principal Mohan Singh Sanjeev Kumar and Ms. Dimpu Sharma warmly praised Mehr Dhawan’s deep love for nature, highlighting her remarkable effort in planting over 30,000 Lakshmi Taru trees during her childhood.

DUALITY: Art That Speaks for the Earth

DUALITY is a moving journey into two worlds—one where nature is cared for, and another where it is harmed and forgotten. 

Through her paintings, poetry and thought-provoking installations, 14-year-old Mehr Dhawan invites all to feel this contrast deeply. Her art doesn’t just show beauty—it asks questions, stirs emotions and makes us think about the choices we make for our planet. 

Works like Sliced Sea, made from recycled candle wicks and twine, and The Cry Beneath the Surface, a fishbowl filled with microplastic waste, turn everyday materials into powerful messages. 

Recognized by national ministries, Mehr Dhawan’s creations blend heart and mind, reminding us that sustainability is not just a concept—it’s a feeling, a responsibility and a call to action.

THE EXHIBITION WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FROM SEPTEMBER 29 TO OCTOBER 29, 2025, DAILY FROM 10 AM TO 5 PM AT MANDI HOUSE, INVITING ALL TO WITNESS A YOUNG ARTIST’S INSPIRING MESSAGE FOR A BETTER WORLD.
