Dance & Tagore: A Soulful Tribute at Victoria Memorial Hall
On 3 November 2025, the elegant halls of Victoria Memorial resonated with rhythm and poetry during Dance & Tagore, a special lecture-demonstration celebrating Rabindranath Tagore’s Nobel-winning legacy.
Organised by Victoria Memorial Hall under the Ministry of Culture, the event featured Dr. Mahua Mukherjee, a pioneering scholar and exponent of Gaudiya Nritya.
Held in the Conference Hall, the evening offered a graceful blend of movement and melody, illuminating Tagore’s timeless connection to Indian classical dance.
The evening unfolded like a quiet poem, where thought and movement danced together.
With Pandit Amitava Mukhopadhyay’s soulful vocals, the gentle strains of Shubhodip Chakraborti’s violin, and Ayan Mukherjee’s melodic guitar, the stage became a canvas of sound and spirit.
Joined by dedicated dancers—Dr. Satabdi Acharya, Dr. Soumya Bhowmick, Dr. Paromita Banerjee and Sayantika Majumdar—the session offered more than performance; it offered perspective.
