Confluence 2026: A Radiant Dialogue of Light and Memory
The Photographic Society of Madras (PSM), the second oldest photographic club in the world, unveiled its annual exhibition Confluence 2026 on June 2, 2026, at the prestigious Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai. Running until June 8, this luminous gathering presents 191 images across seven evocative categories—Portrait, Landscape, Wildlife, Open Monochrome, Colour, Street and Monuments—each frame a testament to vision and artistry.
Adding to its grandeur, the exhibition also features 80 awarded images from PSM’s international salon, offering visitors a rare glimpse into global excellence in photography.
The inauguration was graced by acclaimed film director Mr. Arivazhagan, known for Eeram, Vallinam, and Sabdham. Sharing his journey from photographer to cinematographer, he reflected on how the language of still frames continues to shape his cinematic vision. His words resonated as a tribute to the enduring bond between photography and storytelling.
The exhibition also carries a poignant remembrance of senior members Mr. Ramanidharan R. and Mr. Vivekanandan P.A., whose contributions enriched the society’s legacy. A dedicated section displays their works, weaving memory into the present celebration.
