CELEBRATING CREATIVE-2025: INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR & CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA
CREATIVE-2025 was a grand celebration of art, culture and ideas, held from February 24 to February 26, 2025. Organized by the Department of RSDD, Sangit Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, this event brought together a vibrant confluence of creativity and innovation. Attendees were captivated by engaging programs and activities, making it a memorable experience for art enthusiasts and culture connoisseurs alike. The event’s success highlighted the rich cultural tapestry and artistic brilliance.
INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR AT VISVA-BHARATI UNIVERSITY: A CONFLUENCE OF GLOBAL MINDS
The International Seminar held at Visva-Bharati University was a remarkable gathering of intellectual brilliance. Over the span of three days, approximately 90 scholars from across the globe presented their outstanding research papers. The seminar was hosted across four separate venues within the university, each providing a unique and inspiring setting for academic discussions.
The event commenced with an inaugural session at Lipika Auditorium, where distinguished guests and speakers, including Prof. Dr. Manas Bhul, Prof. Dr. Sruti Bandopadhyay, and Prof. Dr. Mrityunjay Prabhakar, welcomed the participants.
The keynote address by Prof. Mandavi Singh, Vice Chancellor, Bhatkhande Sanskriti Viswavidyalay, Lucknow on the theme “CREATIVE-2025”, set the tone for the seminar, emphasizing the importance of innovation and creativity in research, on Zoom Meeting.
Throughout the seminar, various academic sessions were held, focusing on diverse themes and topics. Highlights included presentations by Dr. Urmimala Sarkar Munsi, Ex. Professor and Dean, JNU and Prof. Binoy Kumar Saren, Offg. V.C, Visva Bharati.
During the Academic Session, Dr. Santanu Das, Rabindra Bharati University presented a special lecture on “The Marginal people in Manoj Mitr’s Plays” and R. Svetlana Ryzhakova, Research Fellow, Russian Academy of Science, Moscow on the topic, “Rural artistic communities in India today: Identity and uncertainty”. Dr. Amit Verma, Vice-Principal, Sangit Bhavana presented last year’s Conference Report.
In addition to the academic sessions, the seminar featured panel presentations at various departments, providing a platform for in-depth discussions and collaborative learning.
ENGAGING SESSIONS AND RENOWNED PARTICIPANTS AT VISVA-BHARATI UNIVERSITY
The seminar began with a special session featuring paper presentations and seminar talks at Sangit Bhavana. Participants including Shri. Samik Bandyopadhyay, Critic & Editor; Dr. Erin B. Mee, Associate Professor, New York University; Prof. Dr. Sreenath Nair, Senior Lecturer, University of Lincoln, UK and Dr. Yogendra Chaubey, Associate Professor, Khairagarh University attended the Meet.
Renowned artist Natyashri Smt Debajani Chatterjee, Prof. Pallavi Sharma, California College of Arts, US; Prof. Krishna Pad Mondal, Rajshahi University, Bangladesh: Smt. Carlota Berzal, Artist and Producer, Seville, Spain; Dr. Anjana Puri, Theatre Practitioner, Rang Vidushak, Bopal and Smt. Divya Nedungadi, Gitam University & Associates also participated.
This seminar is the brainchild of Dr Mrityunjay Prabhakar, Asst. professor and Convenor of Creative 2025.
The event concluded with a closing ceremony that celebrated the achievements of the participants and underscored the importance of continued research and collaboration.
