Monikiran Dattagupta: A Journey of Art and Cultural Brilliance

From an early age, Monikiran Dattagupta embraced the world of classical dance with unwavering passion. Guided by the renowned Dr. Arka Dev Battacharya, she refined her artistic sensibilities and later devoted herself to the rich heritage of Gaudiya Nritya under the esteemed tutelage of Prof. Dr. Mahua Mukherjee and Pandit Amitava Mukherjee. Her artistic journey is complemented by her deep engagement with Rabindra Sangeet and Hindustani Classical music, adding layers of expression to her performances.

Monikiran’s dedication to the arts has earned her numerous accolades, including the prestigious Senior National Scholarship in Gaudiya Nritya from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and recognition as a Grade A artist by Pratibha Chayan, EZCC. Her excellence has shone through in competitions such as the Rajya Yuba Competition and Apurva Kala Vithika and many more, securing top positions that reflect her mastery and devotion.

Her performances have graced esteemed platforms across India and beyond, from the Shilpakala Academy in Bangladesh—an invitation extended by the Indian Embassy—to cultural landmarks such as the Dover Lane Music Conference, Victoria Memorial, and Indian Museum. 

Whether mesmerizing audiences at Ganga Sanskriti Yatra, Presidency University or Iskcon Kolkata Rath Yatra Utsav, her presence is a testament to the timeless beauty of classical arts. As a respected mentor, she has judged prestigious competitions, further solidifying her role in shaping the next generation of artists.

Beyond the stage, Monikiran’s academic pursuits in Geomorphology at Lovely Professional University, Punjab and as a distinguished research scholar, she seamlessly bridges the realms of art and academia, unraveling the intricate connections between movement and storytelling. Her demonstration promises a transformative experience, where the eloquence of Gaudiya Nritya becomes a vessel for emotive expression and cultural resonance.
