“I have almost always tried to recreate a world, my dream world on canvas or paper, which often stems from real life situations and travels. Every time I visit a new place, I observe all the human behaviour, their life and culture, their fauna flora, animal life along with the history and architecture splendor of the place. Later I try to recall, sitting in my studio space and I slowly start to build storyboards, fantasying and often exaggerating the seen and unseen world to create a fluid world, real and unreal!, “ says the renowned artist K G NARENDRA BABU.
“My trip to Delhi and Jaipur last year is the metamorphosis that you can witness in this exhibition. The ancient palaces, historical monuments and the blend of European and Indian architecture blew my mind away. I was thinking of the complicated Indian history and the people who lived in those buildings and the stories around the cities. I was so moved by the beauty and the resonance of these visual imageries which stand testimony against the modern world of skyscrapers. Jaipur, known as the pink city, is outstanding for its layout and monuments of the past, brightened by the colourful and vibrant attire of the people. The harmony is enhanced further by horses, elephants and cows, you frequent in public places as well. The culmination of my experiences from these two cities have been translated into Art,” the artist shares how he recreated his ‘fluid, real and unreal’ world on canvas.
