Agomoni Nritya Mahotsav 2026: Siliguri Welcomes Maa Durga with a Two-Day Celebration of Dance and Music

As Mahalaya heralds the arrival of Maa Durga, Nritya Mallika Dance Academy, Siliguri, is set to light up the city with Agomoni Nritya Mahotsav 2026, a festival of dance, music and devotion. Founded in 2009, the academy has long worked to preserve India’s cultural heritage and hand it to the next generation.

In radiant devotion, Agomoni Nritya Mahotsav 2026 gathers nearly two hundred young dancers of Nritya Mallika Dance Academy with seasoned maestros, weaving a two‑day celebration to honour Maa Durga. The festival’s heartbeat is a luminous tribute—her divine arrival, her magnificence, and her eternal form as Shakti, destroyer of evil and embodiment of strength.

7 October — Dinabandhu Mancha:

The evening opens with a sacred invocation to the Divine Mother, followed by traditional Agomoni presentations, Devi Vandana and Durga Puja songs.

The highlights are two special productions: “Dus Dike Durga,” which explores ten dimensions of the Goddess through dance, and “Mahishasuramardini,” celebrating the triumph of good over evil. Nearly 200 students will perform.

8 October — Rabindra Mancha, Shaktigarh:

The second day becomes a grand Nritya Mahotsav. Around 150 dancers will share one stage, including more than 45 artists from Assam and performers from Alipurduar, Dinhata, Sikkim, Darjeeling and other regions. Both days begin at 5:00 PM.

Distinguished guests include Guru Dr. Shobha Koser, Vidushi Dr. Samita Koser, Shri Sajal Koser, Dr. Upendra Sharma, Shri Ravindra Jain, Shri Om Prakash Bharti and Vidushi Sangita Chaki. Shri Raju Bista, Hon’ble MP, and Dr. Shankar Ghosh, Hon’ble MLA, will also attend.

Shri Subrata De (sitar, Swaranjali Delhi) and Pandit Subir Adhikary (tabla) will add live music.

“Agomoni Nritya Mahotsav 2026 is envisioned as more than a dance festival. It is an offering of devotion to Maa Durga, a celebration of India’s cultural diversity and an opportunity for young artists to connect with their roots.“

“In the rhythm of dance, in the bond of culture, we welcome the Divine Mother with devotion.” – says distinguished Classical dance educator, Choreographer Guru Smt. Rimpi Saha Banik, Founder & Artistic Director of Nritya Mallika dance Academy.
