Renowned Vocalist Mahuya Banerjee, a true entertainer and graceful fashionista with mesmerising stage presence, enthrals the entire world with her unique mellifluous rendering of Ghazals, Nazrul Geeti, Devotional, modern, folk and raga-based songs. Her unique style, magical rendering and presentation mesmerises all. Nowadays Mahuya is a sparkling name in the upcoming musical world.

“I started my first musical lessons from my beloved mother Srimati Tapati Banerjee, who once used to sing in Kolkata. She was my first guru, mentor, biggest critic as well as my father Shri Gobindalal Banerjee, a die-hard enthusiast on my musical career still now,” says the renowned artist Mahuya Banerjee.

Renowned vocalist Mahuya Banerjee, a versatile Hindustani vocalist was born and brought up in Amta, Kolkata and her first musical lessons started at an early age. Later she was trained under the guidance of Pandit Nihar Ranjan Bandopadhyay and renowned singer and scholar Shri Biman Mukhopadhyay from Kolkata. She specifically studied ‘Nazrul Geeti’ from renowned musician Srimati Anasuya Mukhopadhyay.  She is an ex-scholar of Rajya Sangeet Academy and Bangiya Sangeet Parishad under the tutelage of Shri Subodh Ganguly. She was also trained under the guidance of Smt. Manjula Sarkar.  Presently, she is under the conscientious guidance of Shri Somnath Mukhopadhaya, disciple of Pandit Ram Kisan Misra.

Mahuya Banerjee studied Masters in Music from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. She is the recipient of the prestigious National Scholarship and secured top positions in all the music competitions. Now she is deeply passionate in spreading Bengali music, which she believes is a strong pillar of our cultural heritage.

A regular voice on Bengali television, Mahuya Banerjee is well revered as a teacher with a large student base all over the world, spreading our rich heritage and culture.
