Sur Sargam Foundation: A Legacy of Classical Harmony
Sur Sargam Foundation, based in Siliguri, carries forward a rich tradition of Indian classical music under the artistic leadership of Vidushi Smt. Barnali Basu. The journey began in 1978 with Vidwan Shri Utpal Bose, a devoted disciple of Guru Acharya Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri, who founded “Sargam” as the region’s first classical music institution. Through the 80s and 90s, it became a cultural lighthouse, nurturing talent and preserving heritage. In 2008, Smt. Barnali Basu transformed her father’s vision into the registered Sur Sargam Foundation, blending soulful performances with dedicated teaching. Today, it stands as a sanctuary for classical music lovers, inspiring generations with its timeless rhythm and devotion.
Crafting Devotion: A Musical Offering from Siliguri
The soul-stirring vocals for Sur Sargam Foundation’s latest tribute were recorded at Soundflix Studios, Siliguri, and finely mixed and mastered at Dhwani Records.
Behind the seamless sound lies the expertise of Mr. Sumit Biswakarma, while the visual grace owes much to cinematographer Mr. Anindya Neogi.
Reflecting on the project, Vidushi Smt. Barnali Basu shares –“When devotion meets discipline, music becomes a prayer. This production is our offering to the divine and to the hearts that listen.”
With every note and frame, the team brings together tradition, technology and timeless emotion.
