Raga’s Spiritual Resonance Comes to Howrah

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira hosts a soulful seminar, “Raga Music and its Spirituality” (রাগ সঙ্গীত ও এর আধ্যাত্মিকতা), featuring Pandit Dishari Chakraborty — master of the rare Shatatantri Veena and a torchbearer of the Senia Maihar Gharana. 

With over three decades of dedication, his artistry bridges tradition and experimentation, drawing from the Senia Maihar Gharana while boldly venturing beyond its boundaries. A self-taught prodigy shaped by Sarod, Tabla, Naal-Tarang, Pakhawaj and European classical disciplines, Pandit Chakraborty’s music resonates with both ancestral depth and global nuance.

From an international accolade at age twelve to performing before diplomats at the India-Central Asia Dialogue, his music bridges tradition and the world.
