Century of Light: The Siddhi Day Centenary Group Art Exhibition
On the auspicious evening of Saturday, September 5th, 2026, the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry opened its doors to a luminous celebration of art and spirit — the Siddhi Day Centenary Group Art Exhibition.
Marking one hundred years since the descent of the Supermind, this collective showing at the Exhibition House, South Gate Entrance, 2 Rangapillai Street, gathers an extraordinary constellation of artists whose brushes and visions converge in tribute to this sacred milestone.
The exhibition unfolds as a mosaic of individual expression bound by a shared inner calling. Visitors wandering through its halls will encounter the work of A. Ramkumar, Abhijit Sardar, Akhila H, Ambika Behera, Amrita Banerji, and Angshuman Basu, whose canvases open the journey with quiet intensity. The procession continues through the contributions of Ashok Kundu, Baruni, Basudev Ghosh, Bharath L, Bipin Acharya, and Chandrima Roy, each adding a distinct hue to the collective palette.
Further into the gallery, the spirit deepens with pieces by Christoph Pohl, Deepshikha Reddy, Diptimayee Nayak, Doel Roy, Dominiques Jacques, and Giribala Tripathy — voices that traverse continents yet meet here in shared reverence. The exhibition’s heart beats on through the works of I. Sezhian, M. Jayaraman, Jyotsna Sharma, Keiko Mima, Kirti Chandak, and Lisa Kwoczek, before flowing into the evocative offerings of Mahua Mitra, A. Manikandan, Nandini Hirianniah, Nele Martens, Nirmallyo Ghosh, and Nrusingha Charan Behera.
The narrative gathers further richness through Pallavi Subhash, Paramita Chatterjee, Prabhjot Kulkarni, Prasun Kanti Pal, Puli Vijaya Kishore, and R. Radjoucannane, whose works speak in the ashram’s timeless visual language of transformation. They are joined by R. Subrayan, Ramkrishna Haldar, Regina Ulrich, Rumpa Bose, T. Saroja, and Shreya Roy, each canvas a meditation on the descent of consciousness into matter.
Rounding out this remarkable fellowship of artists are Shubhodeep Maji, Sinchan Paul, G. Sivaramakrishnanan, Sneha Sureka Kakad, Srutisikha Martha, Suparna Ghosh Roy, Tapas Bhatt, Tiroumale D, Usha Arvind, V. Santhi Siri, and Vishwajyoti Mohrhoff — nearly fifty artists in all, each thread woven into a single tapestry honouring a hundred years of the Siddhi.
