Celebrating Sacred Movement: Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Museum Marked 7th Anniversary with Gaudiya Nritya Workshop

Dance, in its purest form, has long been a vessel for devotion—and few traditions embody this union of movement and spirit as profoundly as Gaudiya Nritya.

To commemorate its 7th Anniversary, the Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Museum recently hosted a special two-day workshop dedicated to this sacred classical dance form, welcoming practitioners and admirers alike into a living lineage of grace, rhythm, and devotion.

Guided by Masters of the Tradition

The workshop was conducted by two distinguished custodians of Gaudiya Nritya. Dr. Mahua Mukherjee, Former Dean of the Dance Department at Rabindra Bharati University, brought decades of scholarly and artistic authority to the form, while Pt. Amitava Mukherjee, Principal of Gaudiya Nritya Bharati, Kolkata, offered his profound mastery as a torchbearer of this dance heritage. Together, their guidance ensured an immersive encounter with a discipline where every gesture carries centuries of spiritual storytelling.

Two Days of Devotion in Motion

Held on August 13 and 14, 2026, from 4 pm to 8 pm, the workshop drew participants into an experience shaped by rhythm, symbolism and reverence.

Registration was offered free of cost, ensuring an intimate learning environment, and all participants received a certificate presented by Gaudiya Mission—a fitting keepsake from an anniversary celebration rooted in artistic continuity.

As the museum honored seven years of preserving and celebrating Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s legacy, this workshop stood as a heartfelt tribute—an invitation to move, learn, and connect with a tradition where dance becomes prayer.
