Vrindan’s UTSAAH: An Evening of Dance, Devotion and Dreams
1 August 2026 | 6: 00 PM | Triveni Kala Sangam, Tansen Marg, Delhi
On the first evening of August, Delhi’s cultural heartbeat will shimmer a little brighter. Vrindan’s UTSAAH brings together rhythm, grace and purpose in a celebration of Indian classical dance — conceived not merely as a performance, but as a fund-raising initiative for a cause close to the heart of two young talented artists.
At the centre of this evening stand Kaavya Mittal and Meher Gupta — childhood friends and Kathak dancers who have grown up together, one ghungroo beat at a time.
A Friendship Told Through Dance
They began as children in the same dance class, never imagining where the journey would lead. What started as “just another activity” slowly became a language of its own — a way to feel completely present, to connect with something ancient and timeless, to say what words could not.
“It’s not just dancing,” Kaavya reflects. “It’s a medium of conversation — a language of my inner being.”
That love carried them across borders, onto international stages, where audiences unfamiliar with Kathak still found themselves moved by its universal grace.
“Standing there, representing this beautiful Indian classical tradition in front of audiences from across the world — we realised how truly universal Kathak is.” said the artists together.
And through every practice, every nervous moment before a performance, every joy that followed — they had each other.
The Rangmanch: A Rite of Passage
This UTSAAH marks their Rangmanch — the sacred milestone in a Kathak dancer’s journey when a student steps onto the stage alone for the first time, offering everything her guru has poured into her. It is, as they describe it, the moment a student finding her feet becomes an artist finding her voice.
“None of this would have been possible without our guru Archana Singh Maam, a renowned Kathak Exponent, an ace performer and experienced teacher.” — Kaavya and Meher

Guiding them at every step has been their guru, Archana Singh, a distinguished Kathak exponent and performer, whose teaching shaped not only how they dance, but how they think. This evening is their Guru Dakshina to her — a quiet, heartfelt thank you.
Dancing for a Cause
Kaavya Mittal and Meher Gupta have chosen to weave this milestone together with something larger than themselves. Proceeds from the evening will support the Vrindan Foundation, which nurtures traditional art and culture in the community — including teaching specially-abled children and creating opportunities for talented young artists who have the passion, but not always the means.
“There are children who have the talent, who are passionate , who are keen to learn — but not the means.”
“Every rupee raised will help underprivileged students access quality dance education,” they share, “so that every deserving child gets a chance to learn, grow, and achieve their goals.”
—Be part of the Cause
Indian classical dance is a precious inheritance — and it is the responsibility of the next generation to carry it forward. When you support Vrindan’s UTSAAH, you support far more than an evening of performance. You support a child’s dream, a teacher’s vision, and a tradition that has survived centuries — and deserves centuries more.
Rhythms of Compassion, Echoes of Brilliance
Adding to the splendour, the renowned Padmashree Shovana Narayan will present a special guest performance — a moment of pure classical brilliance that bridges tradition and contemporary expression.
Honouring this celebration are the distinguished Guests of Honor — Padmashree Kamalini Asthana and Padmashree Nalini Asthana, whose presence embodies the spirit of excellence and cultural continuity.
Vrindan’s UTSAAH stands not merely as a performance, but as a heartfelt offering — a dance of compassion, artistry and hope that uplifts both stage and soul.

Vrindan Foundation — Cultivating Calm Through Compassion
Founded by the renowned musician Arunangshu Chaudhury, the Vrindan Foundation stands as a sanctuary of human service and artistic empowerment. Guided by the belief that transformation begins within the community, Vrindan nurtures human potential through collective effort, serving as a gentle facilitator of change.
In a world often clouded by anxiety and haste, Vrindan seeks to restore the lost rhythm of calm — offering solace through art, education, and empathy. Its mission thrives on the dedication of volunteers who give their time, energy, and spirit to illuminate lives.
A pillar of hope for physically and mentally challenged children and economically weaker artists, Vrindan provides education, workshops and creative platforms that foster dignity and independence. From teaching music to underprivileged children to empowering youth in performing arts, craft and design, Vrindan continues to light countless lamps of possibility — each one glowing with the quiet strength of compassion.
