An Evening of Indian Classical Maestry — Punjabi University, Patiala

Get ready for an evening — where the magic of sitar, flute and tabla comes together under one roof.  On 24th July, the Department of Youth Welfare, Punjabi University, Patiala, invites music lovers to experience the timeless beauty of Indian classical music, live.

Presented in collaboration with Swaranjali Delhi and Kaivalya — Where Art Meets Spirit, this concert brings together some of the finest custodians of Indian classical music for an evening titled — An Evening of Indian Classical Mastery.

Pandit Subrata De, whose sitar has long been celebrated for its depth and lyrical grace, joins Ustaad Mujtaba Hussain, whose flute carries the timeless, breath-born beauty of Hindustani classical tradition. Together, their Sitar & Flute Duo promises a dialogue of instruments — one plucked, one blown, both equally capable of silence and storm.

Accompanying them is a rare and rhythmic treasure: a Tabla Trio featuring Pandit Madhuresh Bhatt, Pandit Siddhartha Chatterjee, and Pandit Jaidev. Three pairs of hands, one heartbeat — their combined artistry promises a percussive conversation as intricate as it is powerful, anchoring the melodies of sitar and flute in a shared, pulsing rhythm.

Venue: Sunny Oberoi Auditorium, Punjabi University, Patiala
Time: 5:00 PM onwards
Date: 24th July

The evening is coordinated by Dr. Harmohan Sharma, under the guidance of Prof. Bhiminder Singh, Director, along with the entire team of the Department of Youth Welfare.

A Grand Celebration of Indian Classical Music — an evening where sitar, flute and tabla speak a language older than words, and just as moving.
