Silent Impressions: Simran Nigam’s Textured Dialogues at Sublime Galleria

On 10 July 2026, Bengaluru’s Sublime Galleria at UB City unveiled ‘Silent Impressions’ –a stirring exhibition by contemporary artist Simran Nigam.

The evening unfolded like a quiet symphony—art connoisseurs, dignitaries, and seekers of experimental craft gathered, drawn to the profound resonance of Simran Nigam’s wood carvings.

Each piece whispered of patience and imagination, curated with delicate precision by gallerist Unnati Chana, who reflected:

“Art is not just creation, it is communion—between the artist, the space and the soul of the beholder.”

At Sublime Galleria, the month-long showcase opened with Simran Nigam’s works breathing new life into wood, transforming grain and texture into lyrical forms.

The entrance of UB City itself became a prologue, with five works adorning the ground floor wall, inviting passersby into a deeper journey. Within the galleria, twenty more creations awaited—an intimate thought carved into permanence.

The inaugural evening was graced by Artist Mayur Channagree, Shri. Kakkattath Ramakrishna, Artist Pooja, Artist Sreedevi, Artist Jyothi L, Artist Poonam, alongside the Sublime team. Their presence, mingled with young art lovers and seasoned admirers, created a tapestry of voices and visions. The gathering was less an event than a celebration of dialogue—between tradition and experiment, between silence and revelation.

At Silent Impressions, admiration flowed not only from the audience but from voices within the art world itself.

At Silent Impressions, the debut carried a rare intimacy—wood transformed into memory, light etched into silence. The engraved surfaces shifted with every glance, inviting the viewer not to rush but to linger, to feel.

Artist Mayur Channagere captured this essence with luminous clarity:

“What stayed with me most was not just the finished artwork, but the journey behind it, the transition from furniture design to a deeply personal artistic language. The engraved wooden surfaces create a remarkable play of light… A compelling debut that demonstrates both craftsmanship and vulnerability, and a reminder that material itself can become a powerful storyteller.”

Artist Sreedevi Balasubramanian offered a reflection that glowed with poetic clarity:

“I would call artist Simran’s work a luminous presence. The golden carved lines against the dark background give her work both a powerful yet graceful twist. Her works balance powerful thematic ideas with delicate precision. I wish her continued inspiration and success in her bright future!”

At Silent Impressions, admiration found its voice in artist Poonam KS, who shared:

“Please convey my appreciation to Simran, the artist. This art is so unique, classy, elegant and adds glamour to any given space.”

Her words distilled the essence of Simran Nigam’s debut—wood transformed into luminous presence, each carved line balancing grace with strength. Brief yet radiant, the reflection captures how Nigam’s work transcends material, becoming not just art, but atmosphere.

Gautam of Lights on Events, Bangalore, found the show “unique and refreshing,” marveling at how Simran Nigam carved twenty‑five works in just forty days, each imbued with thought and care. His words carried the warmth of encouragement, wishing her the best for this luminous journey.

Together, these voices frame Simran Nigam’s debut not merely as an exhibition, but as a radiant emergence—where craftsmanship meets vulnerability, and wood itself becomes a bearer of light.

The exhibition Silent Impressions at Sublime Galleria felt less like a display and more like a meditation. Simran Nigam’s debut unfolded with a quiet intensity—wood transformed into memory, light etched into emotion. What lingered was not only the finished form but the journey: a transition from furniture design into a deeply personal language of carving and engraving.

Born in Dehradun and now rooted in Bangalore, Simran Nigam lives in a dual rhythm—“a Furniture Designer by day and an aspiring artist by night.” Her practice bridges design and fine art, where hand‑engraved engineered wood becomes a canvas of tactile depth and quiet revelation.

Reflecting on her journey, Nigam shares: “Creating this art helps me get in touch with my innermost feelings and face my inhibitions. Each piece holds a memory, not as a direct illustration but as a journey, an effort, a unique emotion. The artwork holds a mirror in front of me, helping me face the emotions I have avoided and escaped during the day.”

Through Silent Impressions, Simran Nigam offers Bengaluru a rare glimpse into the intimate terrain of memory and emotion, translated into wood and pigment.
