Colours of India 2026: A Celebration of Dance and Heritage in Gurugram
A Cultural Evening of Elegance
On 9 July 2026, Gurugram witnessed a radiant evening as Swaranjali Delhi, in association with Eternal Oasis Gurugram, presented Colours of India 2026. The event unfolded at Prakriti Hall, Eternal Oasis, where art, rhythm and tradition converged under one roof. Supported by the Department of Art and Cultural Affairs, Government of Haryana, the program became a vibrant tapestry of India’s performing arts, weaving together heritage and contemporary talent.
Kathak: The Soul of the Evening
The cultural journey began with a mesmerizing Kathak performance by the young and gifted dancer Ms. Oyeshi Bhattacherjee. Her presentation was a symphony of swift footwork, intricate technique and expressive abhinaya. Each movement carried the fragrance of tradition, while her storytelling through dance illuminated the timeless beauty of Kathak. The audience was captivated by her grace, precision and emotive depth—an exquisite reminder of India’s living classical heritage.
An Evening of Raagas: Swar Ragini’s Classical Harmony
The Resonance of Swar Ragini by renowned Pandit Subhas Ghosh, whose mastery of raag Bageshree unfolded through compositions in Jhaptaal, Ektaal, and Teen Taal. His artistry was enriched by the rhythmic brilliance of Pandit Susamoy Mishra on Tabla and the atmospheric layers of Shri Suresh Kumar on special effects, creating a tapestry of sound that moved seamlessly from classical depth to a lively folk dhun.
The evening continued with the soulful voice of Ms. Laxmi Priya Nayak, who offered raag Shyam Kalyan in both Vilambit and Drut compositions, followed by a tender Dadra. Her performance was beautifully supported by Shri Jitendra Swain on Tabla and Ustad Zakir Dholpuri on Harmonium, weaving rhythm and melody into a dialogue of devotion and artistry.
Strings of Serenity
The concluding performance was a luminous sitar recital by Pandit Uma Prakash Shankar, who brought raag Jhinjhoti to life with delicate phrasing and meditative depth. His music was complemented by the tabla accompaniment of Pandit Siddhartha Chatterjee, together evoking a serene finale that lingered in the hearts of the audience.
The evening was graced by Shri Umesh Mathur—author, educationist, journalist, and filmmaker—and Smt. Niharika Mathur, Manager and Program Director of Eternal Oasis. Their presence added warmth and distinction to the gathering. The entire program was conducted with elegance by Shri Subrata De, ensuring a seamless flow of performances.
Eternal Oasis Gurugram: A Sanctuary of Arts, Culture and Spirit
Spread across one lakh square feet with panoramic views of the Aravalli hills, Eternal Oasis in Gurugram, is more than a centre—it is a living sanctuary where art, culture, and spirituality converge. Designed as a “third space” beyond home and workplace, it nurtures creativity, mindfulness, and community.
The centre houses three performance venues, six flexible workshop spaces, a large art gallery, a professional recording studio, and thirty residential rooms. Complementing these are an 80‑seater eatery, a modern Buddhist temple with meditation hall, expansive terraces, lush lawns, and parking for over a hundred cars. Every corner is envisioned to inspire connection, healing, and artistic expression.
Founded by Umesh Mathur—author, educationist, journalist, and filmmaker—Eternal Oasis has quickly emerged as a distinctive cultural and spiritual destination in Gurugram.
“In my association with the centre for the past six months, I have seen it blossom into a space fostering creativity, mindfulness, art, cultural and spiritual programmes. Eternal Oasis is becoming a true cultural heartbeat of Gurugram.” — Umesh Mathur, Founder of Eternal Oasis
The event’s reach was amplified through the support of Shreyas Webmedia Solutions, the online media partner, ensuring that the resonance of this cultural evening extended beyond the venue to a wider audience.
