Inspiration to Inspire – A Legacy in Color

Amid scaffolds and splashes of vibrant hues, renowned artist R. Rajendran—Guinness World Record Holder (2007) and founder of Assist World Records, Puducherry—emerges as both creator and mentor. His vision unfolds across monumental canvases, guiding fellow artists in shaping a living tribute to compassion and resilience.

Each brushstroke under his direction becomes a luminous homage to those who sacrificed for humanity. Figures like Mother Teresa, whose boundless empathy uplifted the downtrodden, shine through the vast installations, turning color into conscience and art into enduring inspiration.

The exhibition– Inspiration to Inspire, marks the 15th anniversary of Assist World Records and will be inaugurated on October 11, 2026, at Kala Kendra, Bharat Nivas, Auroville, by the Honorable Chief Minister of Puducherry, Shri N. Rangasamy.

Distinguished ministers, scholars and dignitaries will join the celebration, where towering paintings of achievers and national pride illuminate the hall.

Elegant in vision and profound in purpose

R. Rajendran —Guinness World Record Holder (2007)—stands as one of India’s most inspiring fine artists and educators. Assist World Records has touched the lives of more than 3 crore people worldwide, becoming a beacon of achievement and recognition. Its 2017 edition alone documented nearly 1000 records across diverse categories—adventure, art, endurance, social service, technology, yoga, and more—each a testament to human creativity and resilience.

Founder R. Rajendran, Guinness World Record Holder (2007), began his journey with extraordinary feats of mouth‑painting: a 51‑hour Tsunami tribute in 2004, a 127‑hour portrait of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in 2006, and a 12‑day painting of Mother Teresa in 2007, certified by Guinness. These works, born of struggle and sacrifice, became milestones of art for social causes.

A graduate in Computer Science and MBA in HR, Rajendran transformed his challenges into guidance for others. Realizing the difficulties faced by record aspirants, he established Assist World Records to mentor achievers across the globe. Today, the foundation not only celebrates records but also inspires youth through campaigns like Save Nature, Climate Change and Clean India, My Dream My India, and Make Your Mark.

From exhibitions at Sri Aurobindo Ashram Art Gallery to the launch of the Assist World Records Book at Dr. Kalam’s memorial in Rameshwaram, Rajendran’s vision has consistently merged art, social service and recognition. His journey is a living testament that when creativity serves humanity, it becomes immortal inspiration.

Rajendran’s artistry transcends aesthetics—it is a call to awaken the collective conscience. His canvases remind us that when compassion finds its canvas, it paints not just images, but timeless inspiration for generations.

Rajendran’s  works illuminate the timeless truth of art, and become a living testament to humanity’s noblest ideals.
