Monsoon Carnival 2026 – Daksh Dance Academy Mesmerises at Vijaya Puram
At the Island Tourism Festival (ITF) Ground in Vijaya Puram, Andamans, the three-day Monsoon Food & Spice Festival–2026, organised by the Tourism Department in collaboration with various departments, unfolded like a vibrant tapestry of flavours and rhythms.
Under the evocative theme “Monsoon Flavours”, the festival became a confluence of culinary heritage and cultural splendour, drawing an enthusiastic gathering from across the islands.
The grounds brimmed with aromas of traditional delicacies, regional cuisines, and beloved street food, each a window into the diverse palate of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Visitors wandered through this culinary carnival, savouring dishes that carried the essence of monsoon warmth and island tradition.

As twilight descended each evening, the festival’s spirit was lifted by cultural programs and musical interludes. Yet, it was the grand finale that etched itself into memory: the spellbinding performance by Daksh Dance Academy.
Guided by Guru Smt. Sobha Devi R. V., young artists offered a seamless blend of classical and contemporary Bharatanatyam. Their vibrant costumes, expressive gestures, and flawless synchronisation transformed the stage into a living canvas of India’s cultural heritage.
The audience, captivated by the soulful choreography, responded with admiration and applause.
The Academy’s recital was not merely a performance—it was a celebration of discipline, artistry and devotion. As the final notes faded, the Monsoon Carnival concluded in a blaze of colour and grace, leaving behind echoes of dance, spice, and monsoon joy.
