Dozakhnāma: Where Manto Meets Ghalib – Literary Evening at Shailja Art Gallery, Gurgaon

At Shailja Art Gallery, Gurgaon, on 20 June 2026 at 5:00 PM, Dozakhnāma unfolds as an evocative evening of words and reflection.

The program features a book reading and discussion of Rabishankar Bal’s celebrated novel, where two legendary giants of Urdu literature– the poet Mirza Ghalib and the renowned writer Saadat Hasan Manto meets in the afterlife, weaving a dialogue between wit, sorrow and transcendence.

Led by author and translator Amrita Bera and writer Vivek Mishra, the session resonates within the ongoing exhibition –The Contemporary Lore: Sojourn of Styles and Generations Unfurled, a group exhibition of 23 artists, offering a rare confluence of literature and art—where thought becomes melody and silence becomes meaning.
