Radiance of Tradition: The 14th Annual Festival of Kalindi Ahaban Cultural Association

Organized under the luminous direction of Guru Sriparna Bose, the 14th Annual Festival of the Kalindi Ahaban Cultural Association unfolded last month at the Satyajit Ray Auditorium (ICCR), Kolkata. Alongside the prestigious 4th Alok Murali Festival 2026, the evening paid heartfelt tribute to Guru Murulidhar Majhi and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Guru Aloka Kanungo, weaving reverence and artistry into a seamless celebration.

The festival blossomed with a constellation of performances—an exquisite Odissi recital by Abhisikta Ghosh, choreographed by Guru Jyotsna Rani Sahu, “Analo Shyam Ki Range”, offered as a soulful dedication to Lord Krishna.

A vibrant group presentation of Shankarabharanam Pallavi, Khamaj Pallavi, and Arabhi Pallavi drew resounding applause, featuring the talents of Abhisikta Ghosh, Samanwita Biswas, Srija Mukherjee, Shreya Chowdhury, Principia Chakraborty, Adwitiya Dey, Saanvi Dasgupta, Rai Bhattacharya, Ahana Chakraborty, Aditri Chakraborty, Rishima Mitra, Saptasri Das, Anushka Majee, and Samadrita Kundu.

Newcomer students touched hearts with Batu, Ganesh Vandana, and the tale of Narasimha avatar, while the duet Basanta Pallavi by young artists Anushka Maji and Samadrita Kundu captivated with its freshness and charm.

The evening reflected Guru Sriparna Bose’s four decades of devotion to Odissi—her artistry and teaching, shining through every performance.

Gracefully managed by Guru Sriparna Bose and Shubhadip Bose, hosted by Mrs. Jyoti Dutta and Sejuti Bose, and immortalized through the lens of Shankar Sen and Sourav Bhowmik, the festival became a living testament to tradition’s enduring flame.

“All the performances of the talented students, from the Batu dance to the Narasimha avatar, touched everyone’s hearts with their sincerity and brilliance,”reflected the art connoisseurs who attended, affirming the festival’s place as a radiant jewel in Kolkata’s cultural crown.

The festival concluded as a radiant testament to Guru Sriparna Bose’s enduring devotion—where tradition blossomed into artistry and cultural spirit.
