Closing Ceremony of the Folk & Contemporary Art Camp — A National Confluence at Jaipur
The Closing Ceremony of the Folk and Contemporary Art Camp –organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur and the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) and elegantly curated by Nikhat Ansari, will be held on 5th June 2026 at Exhibition Hall–3, RIC, Jaipur at 4:00 PM.
The evening will be graced by distinguished guests — Mrs. Punam, Secretary, Women and Child Development Department, Government of Rajasthan; Shri C. S. Mehta, Artist and Former Chairman, Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy; and Shri Rakshat Hooja, Program Advisor, Rajasthan International Centre, Jaipur. Their presence will lend further resonance to this national confluence of tradition and innovation.
A constellation of masters and visionaries illuminated this confluence — Padma Shri Paresh Rathwa (Pithora art, Gujarat), Shakir Ali (Mughal miniature, Rajasthan), Dulari Devi (Madhubani, Bihar), Mayank Shyam (Gond, Madhya Pradesh) alongside contemporary stalwarts like Subrat Mondal, Nandalal Thakur, Mrs. Ratnavalli K P, Murali Chiroth, Purna Chandra Kishan, Chandrashekhar Sain, and many others.
Equally compelling were rare traditions brought to Jaipur — Khagen Goswami’s mask art of Assam, Bhaskar Chitrakar’s Kalighat paintings of Bengal, Nazda Khatoon’s Sikki craft of Bihar, among others — each embodying a living heritage.
