UNSEEN Exhibition 2026 at BHU: A Platform for Hidden Creative Talents

The Grand Inauguration of UNSEEN Exhibition 2026 at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, opened a powerful platform for students whose artistic brilliance lies beyond formal fine arts education.
Conceived to showcase remarkable abilities in painting, photography, digital art, sketching and diverse creative disciplines, the exhibition celebrates the unseen voices of creativity within the university community. Hosted at the Kala Sutra Art Studio and Gallery within the City Students’ Hostel Campus, the exhibition remains open to the public from June 2 to June 6, 2026, daily between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The organizers posed a striking question that framed the spirit of the event:
“Is art limited only to students formally trained in fine arts? UNSEEN Exhibition 2026 provides a compelling answer to this question.”

The inauguration was graced by distinguished dignitaries. Prof. Vijay Nath Mishra, eminent academician from the Department of Neurology, BHU, emphasized the transformative power of creativity:
“Art is not merely a form of aesthetic expression but also a powerful medium that offers new perspectives to society.”
Prof. Ranjan Kumar Singh, Dean of Students, BHU, as Guest of Honour, highlighted the broader impact of such initiatives: “Exhibitions like UNSEEN foster personality development, self-confidence, and cultural awareness, enriching the creative environment of our university.”
Together, their words illuminated the essence of UNSEEN Exhibition 2026—a celebration of hidden talent, a nurturing of artistic vision, and a reaffirmation that creativity transcends boundaries of formal training.

The exhibition was graced by distinguished faculty and guests—Prof. Abhishek Singh, Dr. Shyama Kumari, Dr. Sunil Chaudhary, and Dr. Rubin—who toured the gallery with keen appreciation. Their words of praise and admiration elevated the initiative, describing it as a truly inspiring platform that nurtures emerging talents and celebrates the creative spirit of BHU’s students.
From 72 enthusiastic submissions across BHU’s diverse faculties, a rigorous evaluation by Dr. Lalit Mohan Soni, Assistant Professor, Department of Painting, Faculty of Visual Arts and Dr. Ashish Kumar Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Arts, distilled the essence of youthful creativity into 32 outstanding artworks. These chosen pieces—spanning painting, photography, digital art, sketches, and mixed‑media—stand as luminous reflections of imagination, innovation, and sensitivity, offering a vivid glimpse into the emerging artistic spirit of the university.
