Triveni: The Feminine Flow of Three Traditions at LD Museum, Ahmedabad

On 29th May 2026, the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai (LD) Museum, in collaboration with ICCR Ahmedabad, illuminated its Museum by Light series with an exquisite program titled “Triveni: The Feminine Flow of Three Traditions.”

The evening became a radiant confluence of Odissi, Manipuri and Gaudiya Nritya, performed by three gifted ICCR scholars from Bangladesh—Mrittika Dhar, Roshni Sinha, and Mausome Rani Bormon.

Each dancer carried the lineage of her tradition with grace: Mrittika Dhar, disciple of Proma Abonti, embodied the sculptural elegance of Odissi; Roshni Sinha revealed the meditative fluidity of Manipuri; and Mausome Rani Bormon, disciple of Guru Rachel Priyanka Peris, brought alive the devotional lyricism of Gaudiya Nritya. Though distinct in vocabulary and rhythm, their performances intertwined seamlessly, echoing the shared essence of feminine expression, discipline and cultural continuity.

The Lecture Hall of LD Museum overflowed with an art-loving audience whose spontaneous presence enlivened the evening. The dancers’ aesthetic presentation enthralled spectators, transforming the stage into a cultural Triveni Sangam—a meeting of rivers where traditions merge yet retain their individuality.

Coordinated and moderated by Abhra Barua, the program reflected not only artistic brilliance but also the strengthening of cultural bonds between India and Bangladesh.

Organizers affirmed their vision to host more such international exchanges, ensuring that Ahmedabad continues to witness splendid evenings where heritage flows across borders.

The night of Triveni glowed as a testament to Indian classical dance—diverse in form, yet united in spirit.
