Naubahar Season 3 — A Symphony of Seasons and Legacy

The Ustad Karamatullah Khan Memorial Music Society (UKKMMS) proudly presents Naubahar – Season 3, a luminous two‑day festival weaving together the Seasons of India and the timeless legacy of Ustad Masit Khansaheb. Held on 16th and 17th May 2026 at the ICCR Auditorium, Kolkata, each evening begins at 5:30 PM, inviting audiences into a world of melody, rhythm and heritage.

Day 1 unfolds with a soulful jugalbandi between Pandit Ashim Chowdhury (sitar) and Pandit Koushik Bhattacharya (vocal), enriched by Smt. Rimpa Siva (tabla). The evening deepens with Sounds of Naubahar by Pandit Nityanand Haldipur (flute) and Sri Ariff Khan (tabla), followed by a masterful tabla solo of the Lucknow Gharana by Khalifa Ustad Ilmas Husain Khan, accompanied by Sri Amaan Hussain (sarangi).

Day 2 journeys into intricate musical dialogues: a stirring sitar recital by Pandit Debojyoti Gupta, accompanied by Sri Asif Khan (tabla); a resonant vocal recital by Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan, supported by Sri. Bilal Khan Salonvi (tabla) and Sri. Gaurab Chatterjee (harmonium); also grand finale uniting two legacies — Pandit Rammohan Maharaj (Kathak) with the legendary Ustad Sabir Khan (tabla). The ensemble features Sri Amaan Hussain (sarangi), Sri Sunando Mukherjee (sarod), Smt. Samraggi Ghosh (bol‑paran), and Sri Aritra Banerjee (vocals), with the evening gracefully guided by compèrer Miss Shamayita Pal.

Through Naubahar, UKKMMS continues its mission of preserving and promoting Indian classical arts, offering a holistic platform for dialogue and ensuring the cultural continuity of traditions nurtured by icons like Ustad Masit Khansaheb.
