The Legacy — A Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci

At Gallery Gold, Kolkata, from 15 to 17 April 2026, an exquisite group exhibition titled “The Legacy” unfolded under the thoughtful curation of eminent senior artist  Ashish Gupta. Conceived as a radiant homage to Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519), the immortal genius whose vision continues to shape centuries of artistic imagination, the exhibition brought together paintings, prints, and sculptures in a collective celebration of creativity.

Inaugurated on World Art Day, 15 April, the event honored da Vinci not merely as a Renaissance master but as a timeless polymath whose ideas ripple across disciplines and eras.

The gathering of distinguished artists and guests including eminent dancer and Choreographer Smt. Mahhuya Chakraborty,  eminent Film Director and writer Sri.Dhrubo Banerjee, eminent artist (Former Principal, Govt. College of Arts & Crafts) and former Regional Secretary, Lalitkala Akademi, Kolkata, transformed the gallery into a vibrant confluence of heritage and innovation.

This vibrant showcase, The Legacy, gathered an ensemble of contemporary voices—After Ali Raja, Alankrita Chatterjee, Arushi Das, Anita Sarkar, Ashima Mondal, Auyona Gupta, Chilka Kanika, Indrani Ghosh, Jagriti Chakrabarti, Jianna Ghosh, Kamalika Ray Dutta, Manya Daga, Naaisha Krundi, Pratish Bhowmick, Ryka De, Sekhar, Kumar Dutta, Sudeshna Mukherjee, Sumit Ghosh, Suvodip Das, Tanishi Bhattacharya and Indrajit Narayan — each weaving their own interpretation of legacy through paintings, prints and sculptures.

Enriched by the creative concept of eminent artist Indrajit Narayan, the exhibition became more than a collective presentation of works.

It emerged as a dialogue between past and present, a luminous celebration of timeless artistry, and a shared homage to the spirit of innovation that continues to inspire generations.

The Legacy became a timeless dialogue, where da Vinci’s spirit continues to inspire new generations.
