From 3rd to 5th April 2026, Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills Convention Centre will transform into a vibrant confluence of creativity as the India Art Festival unfolds. 

With 30 galleries, 80 booths, 300 artists and 3000 artworks, this prestigious event promises an immersive journey through the diverse spectrum of contemporary and traditional Indian art.

Amidst this collective brilliance, the spotlight shines on the renowned artist U. Vijay Kumar, who presents his exclusive solo show at Booth No. B11. His works, celebrated for their evocative blend of stylized human forms and abstract motifs, invite viewers into a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Each canvas becomes a lyrical exploration of color, rhythm, and emotion—an artistic language that resonates deeply with connoisseurs and casual admirers alike.

U. Vijay Kumar: A Journey of Art and Excellence

Eminent artist U. Vijay Kumar honed his craft at the prestigious M.S. University of Baroda, completing his Bachelors in 1983 and Masters in 1985 under the guidance of legendary mentors including K.G. Subramanian, Nasreen Mohammedi, Jeram Patel and Krishna Chhatpar.

With nearly four decades of teaching at the Atomic Energy Central School, Hyderabad, he nurtured generations of young minds while simultaneously shaping his own artistic vision. His dedication to art and education reflects a rare blend of mastery and mentorship.

Honoured with numerous awards—among them the Gold Medal from H.A.S, the All India Youth Art Exhibition Award (1987), and prestigious fellowships from the Ministry of HRD and Kansoria Centre for Arts—his accolades testify to a life steeped in creative brilliance.

His works grace esteemed collections worldwide, from the Glenbarra Art Museum, Tokyo to the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, and have been showcased in exhibitions across India and abroad, including Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, Art Revolution Taipei, and international art festivals in Egypt, Kenya, Vietnam, Italy and many more.

Today, U. Vijay Kumar continues his artistic journey from his studio ‘Tapas’ in Hyderabad, where tradition and innovation converge in every stroke of his brush.
