Unshelving Memories: Exhibition of Artist’s Books Inaugurated in Kerala
On 24 February 2026, the College of Fine Arts Kerala unveiled Unshelving Memories: Exhibition of Artist’s Books, a remarkable event supported by the Rizq Art Initiative.
The gallery in Thiruvananthapuram College of Fine Arts, became a space where books transcended their traditional form, emerging as living artworks—crafted with vision, curated with care, and celebrated as vessels of memory.
The evening began with a welcome address by co-ordinator Prof. Renjith Kumar V, followed by the presidential words of Prof. Manoj Kannan, Principal of the College of Fine Arts. The exhibition was inaugurated by eminent writer Sri. Zachariah, whose presence lent literary gravitas to the occasion. Sculptor Prof. N. N. Rimzon, former principal of the College, delivered a keynote that bridged heritage and contemporary thought, enriching the dialogue around artistic practice.
Curator Prof. Shijo Jacob presented the curatorial vision, guiding audiences through the thematic essence of the exhibition. Felicitations from distinguished voices—Prof. Sunil N, Smt. Preeti Joseph, Sri. Pradeep Panangad, and Sri. Bhadra S R—added layers of reflection and recognition. The programme concluded with heartfelt gratitude expressed by Sri. Likhil Kaladharan, Chairperson of the College Union.
