Omkarnath Mahotsav 2026: A Soulful Celebration of Indian Classical Music in Kolkata
In the heart of Kolkata, where heritage breathes through every street, the 54th Annual Music Conference unfolds as a tribute to timeless melodies and revered traditions.
Presented by Manindra Sangeet Tirtha in collaboration with Omkarnath Mission Parampara, this two-day musical gathering—Omkarnath Mahotsav 2026—will take place on January 11th and 12th from 10: 30 AM till 7: 00 PM, at the Indian Museum’s Ashutosh Birth Centenary Hall, Kolkata.
Each morning begins with heartfelt student performances—solo, duet and group renditions—that echo the spirit of learning and legacy. As the afternoon sun dips, the stage welcomes a constellation of maestros. As the golden afternoon flows into evening, the stage glows with maestros of melody.
This festival gathers the brightest stars of Indian classical music, offering an experience that will stir hearts and uplift spirits.
Padmashree and Central SNA awardee Pandit Ronu Majumdar, with his divine flute, will weave magic through melody.
The spectacular double violinist Dr. L Shankar will mesmerize with his rare artistry, while Pandit Shubhendra Rao’s sitar will echo with timeless ragas.
Adding to the grandeur, Vidushi Dr. Nabanita Chowdhary and Vidushi Saniya Patankar will offer soulful vocal performances, and the inimitable Ustad Akram Khan will bring rhythmic mastery to the tabla. Alongside them, many other celebrated musicians will grace the stage, making this festival a rare confluence of talent and tradition.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture, this event is more than a concert—it’s a living archive of India’s classical soul.
